Make them stop!!!

S. is just growing TOO fast! In less than a week she began crawling and I do mean crawling, everywhere and into everything and she got her first tooth and said "up" She also waves bye and says "Buh" that means bye in Susie speak :) Susan's words are Dada, Nahnah (Sissy), Up, Cup, Buh (for bye), Momma (only when she is sad, otherwise she just calls me Dada!), and she say Mmmwah for more. She also gives kisses that end with her saying "Muwah" ...and a trail of slobber! :)

H. is growing too, she no longer fits into clothes from the "Toddlers" department and I now have to shop the little girls section at the store. This makes me sad :( I don't want her to grow up!!! She's my 1st baby!! Oh can't they just stay little forever? She can count to 100 with little help, write numbers thru 20, write all of her letters and loves to write simple (sight) words. She loves to play mommy and kiss her baby sister :) which melts my heart :):) And did I ever mention that the girl LOVES playdoh? I've never seen a kid beg 10 times a day to play with playdoh!!

She is a great helper-when she wants to be and she wants to fly to the moon and be a Mommy when she grows up. She said "I want to be a mommy and an Astronaut, but I can't do both." I told her she could do anything she wanted to and that meant she could be a Mommy and an Astronaut. She was pretty happy about that. :)

Well in other news....My brother in law might make it back to the states for Christmas after all! The tree is up, the presents bought (mostly) and the cookies will be baked this weekend!

The daycare kiddo's will have their Christmas party this Friday and J's family is coming for Christmas eve dinner-no they don't celebrate it but I'm making a big meal for the 4 of us, so a little company never hurt :) And we have gifts for them. Christmas was a big deal when I was growing up and my mom passed her insane love of the holiday on to me. If N. didn't mind the whole outside of the house would be covered in lights....Heck I don't believe in Santa but when he drove by our house on top of a firetruck on Sunday night running the sirens and waving, it was kinda neat. I'll used Heidi's word it was "Magical" LOL

I took the kids to the mall Sunday and H. went APE when she saw Santa and was begging to sit in his lap and get her picture taken....thus sending me into the explination AGAIN that Santa is NOT real, just pretend like Barney and SuperWhy....She used to get it...but since her friends believe in him I think she is starting to too...which pains me!! We want our kids to celebrate and remember Christmas for the 1 TRUE meaning....not for the fat man/red suit/raindeer hoopla that has taken the holiday by storm.

Yes we have a tree, Yes we give the kids presents....We also take them to church, read stories about Jesus's birth and we even have a SUPER cute dvd called "The very first Noel." It's soooo cute, I could watch it over and over again with the girls. :)

Anyway I've got to get away from here and go start the whole wheat pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for the kiddo's snack. They LOVE freshbaked snacks-even if they are healthy :)

H1N1 ICKY!

So this stuff is nasty, my niece had it. I personally believe my sister and her two sons had it, but I could not convince them to see a Doctor...


S. and I both started fevers on Thursday afternoon by the evening I was sick to my stomach and she was coughing and CRANKY So Friday morning we headed to the doctor, after a nasty flu swab it was confirmed that both S. and I only have viral infections. Thank goodness! But the fevers keep coming and going, as does the upset of stomach and S's cough, she also has a runny nose now too...There is nothing more sad than a baby with a runny nose.

Our ped. asked me to keep our children in, at home as much as humanly possible between now and March 2010! She is very concerned about their safety with all the H1N1 going around. Since those most likely to suffer complications are people with Asthma and children under the age of 2, that includes are whole family, J, H and I all have asthsma and S is obviously under the age of 2.

 H Sunday school teachers will be sending her papers to her at home every week and even though I do NOT want to, I must resign from my Sunday school teaching position. My children are so much more important to me than any other commitments. I will ALWAYS have God no matter what, but my children? I will only have them as long as I can protect them and if keeping them home like the Doctor has asked means I lessen their chances of contracting H1N1 then so be it!
H has also had to give up dance classes, but she hasn't even noticed that we've stopped going. I don't think she really enjoyed them all that much. Maybe she can do Gymnastics again next Summer, if the flu is not so prevalent at that time. She really loved Gymnastics, she would ask everyday "Is today Gymnastics day?" But she never asked "Is today Dance day?" Guess that should have been my clue before I prepaid two months and now we are not using the second month and I can't get a refund. :( Oh well! Lesson learned, never prepay more than one month! lol



Well I've got a baby ramming me with her walker saying BaBa, Dada, BaBa, Dada and giving my the sign for milk. I think she is ready for her bedtime BaBa. :) *YAY* Bedtime! WOOHOO! lol. This momma is tired.

"No Mom. Those start with an R."

So the girls and I made rice crispy TreaTs today for snack since our letter of the week is T. But I was very rudely informed that "No Mom. Those start with an R." I was trying to make the word TreaT stand out by stressing the T's in the word. H. and C. were just not getting it...so we moved on. We also did leaf rubbings and worked on writing the words one and two and the numbers 1 and 2. That's all we acomplished today. C. was in an argumentive mood and H. woke up and promptly proclaimed "I'm grumpy so don't try to make me happy. Ok?" Ohh the things a 4 1/2 comes up with!

We took a trip to a grocery store a half mile away because they were having a meat sale this week and the sale was "While supplies last" Of course they didn't have the pork roast left that I wanted or the cube steak. But I chose 5 other cuts of meat for just $20! Those 5 packages of meat will provide us with at least 8 dinners if not 9! Not a bad deal for just $20 :) If you add to those side dishes from my "Stockpile" that I've accumulated mostly for free or frozen veggies from our garden, Dinner will cost less than $3.50 a night for those 8-9 nights. Take that 5dollardinners.com! lol Just kidding Erin!! Anyway the moral of the trip to the store was that H. and C. kept saying "We're sleepy. We're tired. Can we take a nap when we get home?" Ummm yes?! But I knew that would never REALLY happen because it was only 8:20am. And it didn't. :(

Another day in wonderland.

We went to Church and saw Denial 3 Saturday night. It was pretty cool! H. really liked it when she wasn't too busy whining about being sleepy and I enjoyed it when I wasn't busy pacing the floor in the Narthex with a crying, fussy, hungry baby whose bedtime had long since passed. The best part was that Miss C. had taken an extra step to make sure they had a Peanut Free cookie platter after the preformance for our little miss H.
H. really enjoyed those Oreos! Thanks Miss C! It's nice to be a part of a Church where we can really feel at home and at ease about H's safety and food allergies. They have made sure that everyone is aware of her food allergies and try to take extra precautions when they know she will be attending a special event.

For school today we took a nature walk-well as much of a nature walk as we could through our subdivision. To collect leaves, sticks, acorns and various other tidbits to make some special fall projects later this week.

We didn't get all of our work done this morning because H. was grumpy and said "I don't want to go to school today!!"-->insert foot stomp with hands on hips here <-- But she was all about playing candy store so she could learn about money, and eat the jelly beans afterwards! That's my girl! :) So after naps are done we will be working with patterns and making leaf rubbings. Maybe we can even work in a game of T toss. (toss the ball and she who can come up with the most T words-T is our letter of the week.) Today is a good day for the backyard too....lots to do! :)

So I read this blog called $5 dinners everyday, sometimes more than once!! I LOVE IT! She shares awesome ideas and recipies! I've tried alot of her ideas and they work. Our favorite recipie is the blueberry french toast bake, it's yummy! I also love that she shops at Kroger and while I don't have one close by once a month we drive 30 miles to get our haircuts and there is a Kroger a half mile from the salon!! Last time we were there I stopped in with no list. I purchased over $100 worth of groceries for just $44 after the sales, the plus card savings and my coupons. The bulk of the items I purchased then went into our Church's food pantry :)

I first heard about her site one morning when I was sitting on the couch breastfeeding the baby. I was bored, the baby slow and the remote was like "Touch me!...please?" lol so I clicked on the TV and turned to Rachel Ray and there she was Erin form 5dollardinners.com I checked it out right away! (well as soon as S. was done breastfeeding lol)

My poor baby!!

S. was in the ER yesterday morning with an allergic reaction to amoxicillian. Her whole face including her ears swelled up and turned bright red, and she started wheezing after just one dose of the medication. No more of that for her. H. and I are also allergic to it. Hubs has no allergies....Lucky B*****! S. is all better now. The doctor gave her an antibiotic that we already knew she was not allergic to and she is taking benedryl 4 times a day for a few days to keep the swelling and itchies away. Poor baby :(

In other news:

Homeschooling is going GREAT!  H. loves it and listens so nicely, not like her normal self :)
She loves every little project we do together, so much so that we've already finished all the work I had planned for this week in 4 of her subjects!  So she'll get a little extra "free time" tomorrow.

I was watching a tv show on channel 9 last night and they were in switzerland at Christmas time....Now I'm itching for Christmas! lol The lights, the tree, the SHOPPING! I love shopping! We've set a budget this year and we are sticking (yeah right) to it! We'll see how that goes! lol

I'm itching to bake. Trying to redo all my favorite recipies to be weight watchers friendly is a toughie. Hubs always says "It might be better for your waistline but it's not very good on the tastebuds." I refuse to touch my pumpkin pie though! I'm already planning to make one next Sunday with a roast turkey breast and asparagus. YUM!

A cloud of dust just came rolling in! H. and C. are arguing over purple a crayon!  Gotta go save the world! LOL

Icky bugs!

Well the doctor says it's not the flu and it's not strep. Mine is just a nasty cold and the baby has her first ear infection, bleh! Such is life and it's that time of year...bring on the clorox wipes and lysol!!!! I seriously should take stock in those companies as often as we are sick and have to clean....

Oh and we may have made it to the car without incident but we did manage to be late as usual! :)
